Funded by Gunn Theatre Boosters, the Theatre III/IV Class works with a professional playwright through a TheatreWorks program to inspire and develop young playwrights. The program culminates with staged readings by TheatreWorks actors, of six to eight short original plays by our students, at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, one evening. Admission is free. All are welcome, but seating is limited (only 175 chairs) so admission is first come, first served.
Gunn participates in the Young Playwrights Project alternate years, so all students taking the two-year Theatre III/IV Class are able to participate in this program once during their Gunn career. Each student in the class writes a play during the first part of the project; the selected plays are further developed during the second part.
